The short answer

My verdict

I don’t chase a fixed step count. I pick what my dry, somewhat sensitive skin needs that day, then stop when it feels comfortable.

My skin is dry and somewhat sensitive. This page is not a “correct” routine for everyone. It is the morning and evening order I actually use, written as a record of what I reach for.

My routine at a glance

Morning

  1. Cleanser
  2. Toner
  3. COSRX Advanced Pure Vitamin C 23% Serum
  4. Moisturizer
  5. Sunscreen

Evening

  1. Cleanser
  2. Toner
  3. Choose about 2 serums / treatments
  4. Eye cream Sometimes
  5. Booster Pro X2 with Holika Holika Aloe 99% Soothing Gel About every other day
  6. Moisturizer

Morning

After cleanser and toner, I use COSRX Advanced Pure Vitamin C 23% Serum. Then I finish with moisturizer and sunscreen. That is my usual morning path: keep it steady, and do not pile on extra treatments before the day starts.

Evening

At night I cleanse and tone first. Then I usually choose about two serums or treatments from what I already keep on my shelf:

I do not use the same two every night. I pick by how my skin feels that day. Retinol is not daily for me—I use it about once every three days.

Eye cream is optional. I use it sometimes, not as a required step.

About every other day, I also use the medicube Booster Pro X2 with Holika Holika Aloe 99% Soothing Gel. On those nights I still usually keep my two serum choices. The booster and aloe gel go on before moisturizer.

Moisturizer

For the last cream, I rotate Torriden DIVE-IN Soothing Cream and AESTURA ATOBARRIER365 Cream. Torriden is the one I reach for when I want a lighter finish. AESTURA is the one I reach for when my skin feels sensitive or I want longer-lasting moisture.

Kay’s take

I am not trying to win at step count. Some days my routine is shorter. Some evenings I add the optional pieces. What matters for my dry, somewhat sensitive skin is choosing what fits that day, then stopping when my face feels comfortable—not forcing a longer or shorter routine because a trend says I should.

Korean skincare has been part of Kay's life for as long as she can remember. She has slightly dry, slightly sensitive skin and usually shops with barrier support and anti-aging in mind. She buys products herself from Amazon and Olive Young, and she writes about both the ones she keeps and the ones she stops using.
