The short answer
My verdict
A fast-absorbing hydrating serum that made my skin look a little brighter and clearer. Some fine lines looked softer with the added moisture, but I did not see a meaningful change in deeper wrinkles.
PDRN is one of those skincare ingredients that comes with a lot of expectations. By the time I bought this serum, I had already seen claims about glow, elasticity, uneven tone, and wrinkles. I was curious, but I also wanted to see what I could actually notice on my own skin.
I have now used the Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum for about two months, usually three nights a week. My experience has been positive, but not for every reason I expected. I noticed hydration, a brighter-looking complexion, a subtle plumping effect, and some improvement in the appearance of post-acne marks. I did not see deeper wrinkles flatten or disappear.
Product at a glance
- Product: Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum
- Size: 30 ml / 1.01 fl. oz.
- Purchased from: Amazon
- Tested for: About two months
- Frequency: About three nights a week
- Skin: Slightly dry and slightly sensitive
- Repurchase: Yes, mainly for hydration and brighter-looking skin
The bottle identifies the formula as containing 1% PDRN, listed as Sodium DNA, along with a five-peptide complex. Medicube also lists niacinamide among the key ingredients and positions the serum for hydration, uneven-looking skin tone, and firm-looking skin.
Those are the brand’s claims. My own results were more specific. I liked this most as a lightweight hydrating serum that made my skin look clearer, brighter, and slightly more plump.
Texture, scent, and absorption
The serum has a little viscosity, but it is not thick or heavy. It spreads easily and absorbs much faster than I expected from the texture.
Once it settles, I do not feel any stickiness. Instead, it feels as if a very thin layer of moisture is sitting over my skin. That describes the finish I feel rather than a claim that the serum creates a literal new skin barrier.
It has a soft cosmetic scent with a light floral quality. The scent is subtle rather than strong, which I liked.
The pink color did not stain my skin. Medicube says the color comes naturally from Vitamin B12 rather than an artificial colorant.
How I use it in my evening routine
I mostly use this serum at night, after toner.
I apply approximately four drops:
- One drop on my forehead
- One drop on each cheek
- One drop on my chin
Four drops are enough to cover my face without leaving a heavy layer. I gently spread it over my skin and let it absorb before moving on to moisturizer.
Although Medicube says the serum can be used morning and night, I used it about three evenings a week. That was not because the serum felt too strong for daily use. I simply rotate several products in my evening routine and use some of them on alternating nights.
My results after two months
The first thing I consistently noticed was hydration. My skin felt comfortably moisturized without the serum leaving a sticky film behind.
Over time, my complexion also seemed a little clearer and brighter. This was not a dramatic overnight change. It became more noticeable when I looked at my overall skin tone after using the serum consistently.
A few marks left after extracting breakouts also appeared slightly lighter to me. I would not say the serum erased dark spots or treated acne scars. I only noticed that some of the post-acne discoloration seemed to blend into the surrounding skin a little better than before.
The formula contains more than PDRN alone, including niacinamide and several peptides, and I was using the rest of my normal routine at the same time. I cannot credit the change to one ingredient with certainty.
What happened when I used it with Booster Pro X2
I also used this serum with my Medicube Booster Pro X2.
The post-acne marks seemed to fade more noticeably during the period when I used the serum with the device. Still, I cannot tell how much of that change came from the serum, the device, continued use, or the rest of my routine.
Using the device made the serum feel as though it absorbed even more thoroughly, but that sensation does not prove that it reached a particular depth in my skin or that the device increased the serum’s effectiveness.
For me, the combination was enjoyable to use. I just would not present my observation as proof that everyone will get better brightening results by pairing the two.
Did it help with fine lines or deeper wrinkles?
I noticed a small difference in the appearance of fine lines. Because the serum held moisture well and made my skin feel more supple, some fine lines looked a little less noticeable.
The change was subtle. I did not see deeper wrinkles flatten or disappear, and I would not buy this expecting that kind of result.
For me, the hydration and brighter-looking tone were still much easier to notice than the wrinkle change. I see the fine-line result as a modest benefit of skin looking more hydrated and plump, not as evidence that the serum permanently changed deeper wrinkles.
PDRN has become so popular that it is easy to expect a dramatic anti-aging change from any product carrying the name. Research on particular topical PDRN preparations is interesting, but a study on one preparation does not prove that every PDRN serum will perform the same way.
For more context on those limits, see my PDRN skincare guide.
Irritation and sensitive-skin experience
I did not experience:
- Stinging
- Redness
- Breakouts
- Lingering irritation
That matters to me because my skin is slightly sensitive. The serum felt comfortable each time I used it.
This is still my individual experience. Skin responses can vary, so my lack of irritation does not guarantee the same result for everyone.
What I like
- It absorbs very quickly
- It feels hydrating without being heavy
- It does not leave my skin sticky
- The scent is soft rather than overpowering
- My complexion appeared clearer and brighter
- Some post-acne marks looked slightly less noticeable
- The added moisture made some fine lines look softer
- It worked comfortably on my slightly sensitive skin
What I would keep realistic
I would keep expectations realistic for deeper wrinkles.
The serum gave me enough hydration, brightness, and subtle plumping to make it worthwhile in my routine. It did not produce a dramatic change in established wrinkles. I also cannot separate the serum’s effect from the Booster Pro X2 or the rest of my routine.
That does not make it a bad product. It simply means that the reasons I would buy it again are more modest than the biggest PDRN claims.
Is it worth it?
For me, yes, with the right expectations.
I would consider buying it again for lightweight hydration, a clearer-looking complexion, post-acne marks that appear less noticeable, and the subtle way hydrated skin can make fine lines look softer. The fast absorption and non-sticky finish also make it easy to keep using.
I would not choose it solely because I expected PDRN to erase deeper wrinkles. After two months, I did not see that kind of result.
The short answer
The Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum worked best for me as a fast-absorbing hydrating serum that made my skin look a little brighter and clearer. The added moisture also made some fine lines appear slightly less noticeable, although I did not see a meaningful change in deeper wrinkles.
Some post-acne marks appeared a little lighter, especially during the period when I used the serum with my Booster Pro X2, but I cannot separate the effects of the serum, the device, and the rest of my routine.
I experienced no stinging, redness, or breakouts. I would buy it again for hydration, brighter-looking skin, and the subtle plumping effect, while keeping expectations realistic for deeper wrinkles.
I compared this serum with the Medicube PDRN jelly mist in Medicube PDRN Serum vs Jelly Mist: Which Would I Buy Again?.
